About PROJECT20THREE

In November 2020, we lost our son, brother, and uncle.

Cody Heppner passed away at the age of 25. Unbeknown to most, Cody suffered for many years with mental health issues.  Tragically the stigma around mental health and his own fears prevented him from accepting professional help.

We believe the mental health crisis that led to Cody's death could have been prevented.

Are there mental health resources available? Yes! Are they easily accessible? Unfortunately, not everywhere. And even if finding help in rural areas was easier, there are stigmas around mental illness that prevent individuals from accepting help.

So, what is PROJECT20THREE about?

We are shining a light on the resources already available to our state and communities, as well as highlighting where the gaps in those resources currently are. And our biggest resource gap right now is a lack of mental health professionals! That's why we're starting a scholarship for Warroad High School students pursuing a degree in a mental health related field.
